The debt is mostly from the year Rodman took a controversial trip to North Korea.

Basketball great Dennis Rodman owes the Internal Revenue Service $500,000 in unpaid federal taxes.

According to documents obtained by Radar, the IRS filed a tax lien against Rodman, a retired basketball player who was known for his fierce defensive skills.

Rodman played for the Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks.

Rodman was also known on and off the court for his flamboyant style and “bad boy” image.

Rodman’s IRS debt is for the years 2016, 2017 and 2018. Most of the debt is from 2017, the year Rodman made a controversial and well-publicized trip to North Korea, whose leader, Kim Jong Un, is a basketball fan.
